About us

Welcome to Parkside Medical Centre

We hope that you find our clinical care convenient and helpful. Parkside Medical Centre is a Nurse Practitioner led surgery. This means that in the majority of cases your first port of call will be with a Nurse Practitioner. Myself and Dr Varughese are immediately available should our nursing colleagues require it. We work like this because it makes clinical care far quicker and more accessible to you, and ensures that all our patients receive a timely and thorough service.

I do hope you make the most of the range of clinical services available to you. We provide morning walk-in clinics and pre-booked appointments each afternoon.

We closely involve our patients in how we run the service. Our Patient Participation Group has direct access to management and clinicians. Together, we are very proud of the service we have developed.

We are very proud to have recently become an accredited GP training practice. You may well meet our trainee GP the next time you visit us.

Nurse led surgery

Our team of nurse practitioners work alongside our doctors to provide care. Nurse practitioners are distinctly different to practice nurses. They are trained at degree level to diagnose, prescribe, and refer patients to secondary and other care. Nurse practitioners will assess you over the phone or face to face, and arrange whatever care you require.

Easy Access to care

If you feel unwell, we provide morning walk-in clinics and pre-booked appointments throughout the afternoon - so you can choose whichever method of consultation is more convenient to you.

If you are arranging a follow up appointment or routine appointment with the practice nurse of healthcare assistant, this will be managed directly by reception.

We listen to you!

We take a shared view of the practice and agree together what service changes we should make. The group has had a direct influence over the introduction of morning walk-in clinics. Click here for more.
